What’s your state’s SCENT?

I know, I know. Your probably thinking, does my state smell? Well not actually, I mean no body is bottling  and selling” Indiana” scented room spray! I mean at least, I don’t think they are!

Anyway, on with the point! I was recently selected  to be a part of an AMAZING contest by Better Homes & Garden, to take part in their “State Fragrance” Contest, as the ambassador for the great state of Indiana! I gladly accepted, and was honored to represent our great state!

So when you think of Indiana, what comes to mind? Well I  immediately thought racing, basketball, corn fields and farms. Then a light bulb went off in my head! Indian Summer. There is nothing better, then a warm fall day in October where you can wear your favorite sweat shirt to a pumpkin patch with you family, and pick the BEST pumpkin without freezing.  There are still all the smells of a lingering summer, and you trying to hold on to every last second of the warmth surrounding you, before that cool crisp fall air hits.

There are the scent’s I used to make the Indian Summer scent creation! I used a full cube of Sugared Melon Kiwi, Creamy Tahitian Coconut, and a half cube of Mandarin Orange Zest!

When I was thinking about what I wanted to combine to make the perfect Indian Summer scent. The first thing the came to mind was fruit, that’s why I chose Sugared Melon Kiwi. It’s exotic tropical scent with the hint of warmth from the sugar, along with the Creamy Tahitian Coconut added a tropical blast, but still very warm, not to fruity.  Along with the bit of Mandarin Orange Zest, I knew I had created the PERFECT representation of Indian Summer!
