Happy 2015 Y’all!! Meet my best friend, Rachael!!!

Happy 2015, y’all!!

I couldn’t wait to introduce myself to all of you, so what better day than New Year’s Day! I’m sure most of you saw Tawny’s Instagram post warning letting you all know I was coming. Tawny and I have been friends for twenty years now. It still baffles the both of us how fast time has flown by! But lifelong friends are a blessing that one should never take for granted and I, for one, am seriously grateful.

So, anyhoo, let me introduce myself. My name is Rachael. Yes, with the extra a. Thanks dad for making sure I have to spell my name for everyone for the rest of my life. I am 31 years old and have two small children. A 6 year old boy and a 4 year old little girl. I work full time in an industry where numbers are my thing and so is being analytical and all the things that bring out my Type A personality. So, when I get a chance for a little fun time of hair, makeup and DIY home projects, I soak it up.

Tawny invited me to be a contributor on her blog to help bring y’a’ll a little different perspective on products, fashion, hair, DIYs, etc. Because, although we’ve been best friends for twenty years, you’ll find we often have some differing opinions, fashions, points of view and ideas.

So, let’s see what else I can tell you about me. I love antiques. I love old houses. I love old photos. Ok, so I basically want to be Nicole Curtis when I grow up. 31 isn’t grown up yet, is it? 🙂

I also ride horses in my free time. My free time is few and far in-between lately, but there is nothing like saddling up your favorite gelding and going on a ride through the woods, jumping fallen trees, running through hills and trails and feeling the wind in your hair and the fresh air in your lungs. If you’ve never ridden, well, you’re missing out. Heels down!!

And while I love doing my hair and makeup, I’m also a girl that can bait her own hook, build a bonfire like a man and loves the outdoors.

Ill be doing some different fashion posts for you all, as well. Tawny does a wonderful job at bringing you the plus-sized looks and now I’m going to show you a little different side. I am a petite 5 feet tall and a size 0. So, things can sometimes be hard for me to find that fit well and that does not make me look like I’m dressing Tawny’s 9 year old. I am a little simpler in my fashion but that doesn’t mean I don’t like to look pretty. To me, there are two seasons. Boot season and flip flop season. Well, the cowboy boots usually show up year around but I sure miss my flip flops and sandals 8 months out of the year here in Indiana.

We’ll also be showing you tutorials on makeup for me as well. Showing ideas and tutorials on my fair skin, green eyes and blonde hair obviously won’t look the same as they do on Tawny’s darker skin and dark hair, so now you get both perspectives. Exciting, right??

There are also going to posts from me about my weight loss journey, fitness tips for busy moms and healthy recipes that even your kids and husbands will enjoy. I’ll go more into the weight loss journey in a future post, so look out for that one!
