Happy Birthday to me!
This year I turned the big 33! Every year I’m asked, do you feel any older? Of course, my answer is alway no, but this year was different. I did feel older. For the first time…I felt like as a 33 year old mother of a 7 & 10 year old with a real life career I felt older, more mature, and I felt like I can finally be taken serious.
For so long, I’ve been an stay -at-home mom. And in doing that, I lost a sense of who I was. Don’t get me wrong, I love my girls more then anything, but this year I no longer felt like I was only Breanna and Abigail’s mom… I was Tawny again.
You know, as moms we always feel guilty about treating ourselves. I’m always worring about what activities need to paid for, do the kids need lunch money, or did hey blow a hole in the last good pair of jeans they own?! For the first time since becoming a mom, I really treated myself without feeling guilty.
I called my best girlfriend up and we spent the day together laughing, singing, eating a shopping and it was just what I needed.
We hit up Norstrom for the Winter beauty event. Let’s just say, Nordi’s knows how to host a beauty event. They had artists lining the beauty isle awaiting the chance to sit someone down in their chair! We made our way to the Chanel counter. Where the beautiful ladies working the counter were eager to answe any questions, share techniques, and sell you a very expensive CC cream! With not a care in the world, I purchased and Chanel CC cream and their ever so lovely $55 aqua vita lumier foundation! 😁
Later that evening I ended my birthday with a beautiful cake and ice cream session with the people who mean the most to me… My family!
