Marriage Series: A God Centered Marriage { Letting go}
Hey y’all! I know, I’m totally late! I’m sorry. I thought today was Monday until I asked my husband about 2 hours ago what day it was and he informed me that It was Tuesday not Monday! And like 15 million other families in the world we were watching Frozen!
Today we are continuing the marriage series and we will be talking about letting go. If you missed the post last week you can see that here.
Ok, so let’s recap. I’ve talked about the struggles we’ve encountered in our marriage. Last week, I talked about making a commitment for life.
Y’all marriage is tough, right? As I sit here, I think about all the struggles and just crap that we’ve gone through in our marriage. I just sit and think how easy it would be to just give up! Ya, know? No wonder the divorce rate in America in through the roof. It’s simple and easy to just give up, go file for divorce, and sign a piece of paper and just say ok, I’m done!
Unfortunately, for some people, that’s the only answer; or at least that’s what they think.
Well, I say, what if you just let it go? Now, I know everyone’s situation is different and some people just can’t turn a cheek to some things. But if you’ve made that commitment for life, are you willing to let all the struggles, fights, resentment, and just the crap go? Or are you going to let those things dig you further into the black hole of divorce?
For me, the choice was to LET IT GO. I wasn’t willing to live with those burdens on my shoulders every day. My husband was broken and in a dark place, in fact, he wasn’t even the man I married, and for that he was forgiven…
I know as women, it’s SO hard to let things go. It’s easier to harp on the past, but to move forward you have to LET GO. Just Let. It. GO! Start fresh today. Don’t relive the past.
Hatred stirs up dissension, but love covers over all wrongs. Proverbs 10:22
What steps are you willing to take let it go today?
