Ready to ROCK this!
Howdy girls! So, I had an eventful day the other day. It was finally time for my prep meeting with my coach for the show. I am officially 7 1/2 months out. OMG! I’m not going to lie. I’m freaking out a bit because I know I have SOO much work left to do, BUT I have to keep reminding myself how much work I’ve already done. Slipping into my itty bitty bikini yesterday for progress pictures was, well, humbling. And then having to take photos of myself and send to my coach? Yeah… That was a bit rough. Although, I know it will all be worth it.
For those of you wondering what my meeting entailed and how this all gets started, I’m going to fill you in a little bit. First, it’s a science, for sure. My coach is a literally a sponsored pro athlete that I have been friends with for years. She’s pretty much a rockstar at this and just competed in a show only 9 months after having her first child! Crazy, right??
Our first steps are getting all my nutrients and calories exactly where I need them to build muscle and not lose actual weight. I am currently standing at a meek 5 feet if I stand really tall and 105lbs as of yesterday morning. So, my caloric intake isn’t going to be as high as you blessed tall girls. This is why I decided to hire her as my coach. It’s a tough balance getting me to eat enough to build muscle without storing additional fats.
I also had to whip out that fancy little tape measure and record all my measurements. Again, humbling.
As women, we are always so self conscious about our bodies and to throw it all out there, uncovered, raw and have your flaws pointed out, is a little rough. However, it will all be worth it. I’m ready.
I am also getting a strict workout schedule. This will include certain days dedicated to the body parts I need to focus on the most. Our first course of action is “Operation build-a-booty” and “Let me see those abs!”
And here comes me putting it all out there. The abs thing worries me. See, I’ve lost a significant amount of weight as well as had two babies that weren’t so kind to my abdominal skin. Yes, there are stretch marks. Yes, the skin isn’t as tight as it should be. However, this isn’t going to stop me. The tighter those muscles get and the more definition I see, the less that skin will be noticeable.
I’m excited to let you all in on my journey! I sure could use the support and encouragement.
Feel free to ask me any questions your little heart desires!!!
Love,
Rachael
