When to Pitch Old Cosmetics
As a busy mom, I don’t always have the time to go thought my makeup and see what’s bad. But, I really try to take the time about once every 4 to 6 months to go through and pitch what’s no longer good. So, I’m going to give the telltale signs of good products gone bad. Today, I’m sharing When to Pitch Old Cosmetics.
Scent Changes
Does the product smell sour?
Or just off?
Color Changes
Is the product yellow or brown?
The formula separation
If you see a top layer of liquid on you product pitch it!
(With the exception of nail polish)
Keep it or toss it
Foundation: Up to two years
Lip products: two years
Mascara: three months
Face powder or blush: two years
Nail Polish: One year
Anti-aging or acne treatments: three months to a year
Tips
These are just a few tips to help with the aging of beauty products.
Store fragrance and cosmetics away from direct sunlight and excessive heat.
Make sure to close bottles tightly to slow the oxidation process
Store your nail polish in the refrigerator
